BUMBLEance has been the charity partner of Monread Fare since January 2024. It is the world’s first state-of-the-art ambulance service specifically designed and tailored for children.

Launched by The Saoirse Foundation in 2013, BUMBLEance provides safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients, helping children travel between their homes and children’s hospitals, hospices, national paediatric treatment centres and respite centres nationwide.

Each BUMBLEance vehicle is equipped with advanced mobile internet and Wi-Fi, allowing real-time data to be transferred from on-board medical equipment to remote servers. The vehicles also feature state-of-the-art, child-friendly entertainment systems designed to distract, comfort and entertain young patients during their journeys to and from hospital.

BUMBLEance operates a fleet of 15 vehicles across Ireland and provides its service free of charge to children requiring medical assistance. By doing so, it helps ease the financial burden that can often come with regular hospital visits for families.

Monread Fare recognises the vital role BUMBLEance plays in supporting children and families across Ireland. To help support this important service, collection boxes are available at all counters throughout Monread Fare, with customers also able to make contactless donations using their debit cards.
